HOW DID CRAZY BELLY START?

Crazy Belly is the result of the meeting between a highly-talented cook and a successful businessman, both in love with Asian food and driven by sustainability.

 

The trigger that stimulated the foundation of Crazy Belly, as often happens in such cases, was a daily unfulfilled need that became a big problem — difficulty in finding good Asian food quickly and at affordable prices during business lunch hours in Zürich, Binz.

We provide great food for every mood. Doesn't matter if you are stressed out, overwhelmed or super happy, Crazy Belly is the right place to get food and a smile on your face for your lunch break!

MEET OUR CHEF 

Having grown up in a family surrounded by food, as a young kid, Richard loved watching his grandfather making sushi for their family restaurant every day.

This is when he realised that food played a major role in his life and therefore started to work towards growing his passion actively.

While growing up in Asia he had a chance to master all the secrets of the multi-faceted Asian cuisines, spanning from Japan, China, Vietnam to Thailand. But his passion for exploring different cuisines did not stop here which led him to travel to Europe and Switzerland to learn more about Western cuisine.

Once his passion became a vocation, Richard decided to further his education in hospitality and graduated from prestigious institutions such as "Hotel Management Institute" in Lausanne and "Le Cordon Bleu College", Cooking school in Paris, France.

After selling his last restaurant and working as a chef for 20 years, Richard decided to dedicate his expertise and creativity to a new project focused on freshness of ingredients, sustainability and circularity of the menus based on seasonality of ingredients — that's how "Crazy Belly" was born; a unique concept positioned in the Binz business area in Zürich to fill the gap of availability of Asian food at a highly competitive price.
